• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mid-year RS change?

While in SoCal visiting relatives, I did what any Spyder owner would do, I went directly to the largest Spyder dealer I could find to drool. While there, I noticed something odd. Compare the upper a-arms (click each photo to make it larger) in these two photos. If the taped-on signs are correct, they're both new 2010 models, so why are the a-arms different? Would this change help pre-2010 RS's with improved cooling?

Interesting question; I had it as well. Check out this link to BRP's parts page and notice that there is an option for both 2010 and late production 2010 RS's.

Both my wifes and my 2009 GS SE5 have that upper a-arm fin... for what it's worth.

That isn't unique to 2010 or 11's... or 09's for that matter.

I don't know what the reason is, I've seen them built with the fin on top, on bottom, and on both arms.

:dontknow:

Good Find ! I also noticed that the red one was $1000.00 more than the blue one . Could it be that the red one with the fin is for the SE5 model and blue one with no fin is the SM5 model. I am only raising the question because of the price difference and assuming the price difference is because of the transmission shifting option :popcorn:

So who does or doesn't have the fins and what kind of transmission do you have?

(Somebody mentioned transmissions as a potential difference in the machines...)

We discuss this issue before; the change in A arms cover was done in mid -2009. ;)

My '09 RS didn't have them, so I made a set, an mounted them on the top A-arms. It'snot hot enough here for me to attest whither there was a benefit or not - would only help at speed.....
