• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Me and Nanny

So, I did actually cause Ms. Nanny to take control once. Pulled off to the shoulder on the freeway, upon returning to the freeway, I forgot to shift out of 1st. Ms. Nanny took umbrage, and slowed me down around 40 mph. Eh. So, when I tried again, shifting and accelerating properly, everything was copacetic.

Took a nice long trip this week, wasted money and miles but enjoyed it. When it rained, I raised my big (2-up) windshield. Got wet anyhow, but it was warm enough that I dried off quickly. As I was returning, I noticed that the mph had improved and the ride seemed smoother. Maybe I was tired and had a gas-station cookie high going on. :doorag:

As I peruse the the entries and activities here, I note that I performed my oil change incompletely - I didn't drain the engine. I also could not figure out how to remove the "bottom plate under the oil tank". This did not cause the mess it could have, because I siphoned out most of the oil earlier. If anyone has a nice big picture of the plug that empties the oil from the engine, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and

Just about every time I stopped, some one asked me about my Spyder. I'd tell them it was fun to ride, and that I didn't have to worry about dropping it on myself! I stopped at a Harley dealership for a break, and as I was leaving, a guy pulls up in a huge cruiser, and ALMOST turns it around to park. Down it starts to go. He starts to curse and notices me there, as I was turning around to see what was going on. He asks for help and I oblige. Once safely parked, he says "wow, that that was a close one, thanks." "No problem, it happens to every one." sez me. Smiling, because my Spyder will not fall on me unless I get a crane or derrick or something.
