There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Marbles and sand in the 1330....

I apologize for trying to bring a little levity to a subject that has been bothering a few on this forum. That would be the noises that come from the 1330 while it is running. I did not feel that my light ribbing was out of place since this matter was brought up before. But someone else did. Therefore I shall endeavor to be more courteous & less insensitive to other peoples posts. And the answer to the tread that was removed can be found in the following locations. Thanks.

I didn't think your response was out of line (at least the one I saw before the thread was pulled). I did think the OP's question was framed and worded in such a way as to beg a smart-ass remark!

'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''Box of Rocks

No offense is meant but the 1330 sounds like a box of rocks compared to both my V-Max and Valkyrie motors ( Valk has been sold ). The noise doesn't concern me any more. Especially after our 2 week trip with some high speeds and hot weather. ( not a drop of oil either)

After owning two Valks and two Goldwings I have to agree. The total lack of noise and vibration from those Hondas sometimes lent me to believe the engines had seized.

I agree that the 1330 is noisy compared to other engines. I didn't think mine was overly noisy when I got it. After looking around on here and on the internet I found that it's just the nature of 3 cylinder engines. You would think that balancing a 3 cylinder would be easy but because of having an odd number of pistons makes it difficult. Because of that you end up with more noise than an engine with an even number of pistons. Makes me wonder why Rotax didn't try to make a 4 cylinder engine to fit in the same space.

I always felt the sound of the 1330 at idle was like a big diesel. It does have plenty of torque to pull in any gear at low speeds. Here, I have learned to live with it. :yes:

You might not believe it but a driver once pulled up beside me at a light and asked if it was a diesel.

I do believe it. :yes::yes:

Have you ever pulled up to a SMART car in distress, and asked them if they needed a new flint? :roflblack: Sorry, the devil made me post it.

Marbles

I don't think my 2017 spyder RTL 1330, sounds like marbles and stuff I Believe it sounds like a Sewing Machine. But the Bike has a lot of torque and speed, I Love it, because its different.

+1
The engine is quieter than most bikes I've owned.
Maybe that's because it is shrouded in plastic. :f_spider:

Quieter

My 1330 is a lot quieter than my last 106 Victory or a Harley Twin Cam. Just think of it as motor music and ride.

I'm practically deaf,

until I get my new hearing aids on Dec. 12th. from the V.A. but I have a 2014 Triumph Trophy with a 1215 inline 3 cylinder engine. It only weighs 800 lbs and will do wheelies if the ABS is turned off, and it seems noisy also. Oh, and it's damn fast, almost threw me off the first time I hit a bump and twisted the throttle too fast :yikes:. So, I guess the noise might be a 3 cylinder symptom.
