• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Make Handlebar Bolts Black to match?

Hawk

New member
Anyone know an easy method of making the bolts that hold the handlebars black to match the newer bars that are "black"? I thought about a sharpie, but that's not gonna last long, lol.

Don't they have permanent waterproof markers? :dontknow:
It would seem easy-enough to touch things up as needed...
(Just a thought... ;) )

not really

Really? Mine are not. I had the tilting GPS harness installed, but that would have been only 2. All 4 of mine are silver.

 It's almost TOO simple... Something's got to be wrong with it! :yikes:

I will look for the waterproof ones. I was thinking there had to be something I could use. I didn't want to remove them or paint them. Not a big deal.

A bit of black paint and a small brush? Room for maybe some small black plastic caps?

Probably would not be too big of an issue, but if you get paint on too thick, if you had an issue and needed to remove them, it could make it difficult to insert the hex wrench. You could always chip it out of it though.

Have them Blued

You could take them out and have them blued like they do for gun barrels. The black oxide in the bluing is permanent and helps to resist rust & corrosion. The big plus is that it won't interfere with your allen wrenches getting into the socket heads.

The bolts are stainless. Perhaps some caps would be a better dress up if you think its needed.

If you would have read the fine print on my original answer you would have seen that i was joking, mine are stainless also.
