• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Maggie Valley - WOW!

Mod Monster
I'll start this thread about our experiences. :chat:

I've been watching from my room at the Fairfield Inn here in Cherokee. I have a 3rd floor view of the parking lot and the big Shell gas station / food mart / hamburger joint next door. I know it's only a fraction of the Spyders in town, but WOW... to watch the ryders come and go, checking into the hotel, getting gas, grabbing a burger, sitting on their rydes and eating ice cream :). It makes me smile!!

Something else that baffled me:hun:. I walked up to and started conversation with about 10 people so far. About 50% had never heard of SpyderLovers.com, or they JUST heard about it!! I'm that Geico guy who lives under a rock I guess:dontknow: I thought EVERYONE knew about SpyderLovers. So... I'm evangelizing!

Lamont- do we have SpyderLovers.com cards we can hand out?

:2thumbs: go get'em :2thumbs:

Great idea!!!! Vaughn and I are getting cards made for SOreSpyders
and I just asked Lamont if we could add Spyderlovers.com on the back side
cos we're always telling people about it.

There are a lot of Spyders in my area and none of them are members of Spyderlovers. A lot of people are not into being a part of forums. I am that way. I visit forums for things I have an interest in but rarely get involved in discussions. Spyderlovers is the exception and I really can't explain why.

I sure am glad I did get involved because I have met a lot of great people.

I think cards would be a great idea. I wouldn't mind getting a pin or patch, or t-shirt with Spyderlovers on it. I saw a guy with a Spyderlovers (Rayyou?) t-shirt but forgot to ask him where he got it. We've talked to people here at the Comfort Inn where we're staying and they hadn't heard of it either. We're trying to get the word out here!

Click on the "I'M NOT A ROCK STAR..." link on the right side of the SpyderLovers homepage ( http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/index.php ) & it'll take you to a number of SpyderLovers t-shirts.

Phil, what a blessing to meet you and Bobbie today. Look forward to going through the Wheels Through Time museum with you tomorrow.

Having a wonderful time meeting folks and making new friends. Putting names to faces, even feeling like you've finally gotten the opportunity to meet an old friend.

How cool is that???

My wife and I have the same view as Phil and I agree with him. There are a lot of Spyder riders out there that has no knowledge of Spyderlovers. Cards are a great way to get the word out. I've had my dealer call me about products that I have on my Spyder. They have customers that ask about after market items. Maybe the dealers should advertise the web sites as a way to better educate their customers. :chat: PS: Today's event was just :2thumbs::2thumbs::ohyea:.

Looks like we're hanging here in Cherokee till right after lunch, then be heading back over for the afternoon. I'm hoping the 3 of us can do the museum if you're not ryding. I'll hollar when we get into town.

Phil--For those other Texas Spyder Ryders that couldn't make this event, thanks for the pics and posts! Great read!

Great read Phil-
It only reinforces my error in judgment not to attend because of too many pregnant females ready to birth here on the farm.

Hereby Resolved:It won't happen next year!

You do realize that you will have to plan well ahead for next year so you don't have the "pregnant females" issue, right?

It looks like a beautiful location for an event.

Sorry I had to miss this one but the new car arrived just at the wrong time.

Hope everyone has a great time. At least its dry this time of year. lol

Phil - thanks for posting some great pictures! :2thumbs: I especially like the labels. And that's a beautiful field/fairground with all the Spyders there.

Great ride today. Four 2up and three singles (BRP reps) rode the Blue Ridge Pkwy from Cherokee to Asheville. Stopped for lunch, rode last 20 miles in good rain.

Very impressed with RT handling in rain.

Thanks for posting the pics Phil. We weren't able to go this year and soooo enjoyed Spyderfest so I know you guys are having a super time. Maybe next year.
