There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Maggie Valley--Long way around.

I thought I'd start a new thread detailing my travels from Ohio to Maggie Valley via Kansas City.
I will be heading out on Tuesday (6/7) for Maggie Valley, the long way around.:dontknow: But first, I will be attending a Harley Sportster Rally near Kansas City.:D I sold my Sportster in '08 and have had a BMW K1200GT and a 2009 Can Am SM5 before I got my current 2010 RT-SM5. So, I haven't had a Sportster since '08 but WTF the people are good friends and they allow me to attend the rally anyway (Eight of us rode our Sportsters to Alaska in '07 and we have remained good friends ever since).
I'll be leaving from Akron, OH and heading out to spend some time with my daughter and grandson:D in Cincinnati. On Wednesday I was going to head for the St. Louis area but I had so much fun at Spyderfest '11 that I think I'll plan to spend the night in Cuba, MO. Besides being a great place to spend the night I'll be within reach of Cowtown:clap: and if I have any Spyder problems I can count on them to solve 'em:lecturef_smilie:
On Thursday I'll head to Rochport, MO for lunch. My favorite MO Restaurant:2thumbs:, Les Bourgeois Vinyards is on the Missouri River and the food is fabulous. Then off to Platte City outside of Kansas City for the Rally.
I plan on leaving Platte City on Sunday 6/12 and taking a liesure(3 day) trip across KY, TN and NC and arrive in Maggie Valley on the 15th. I should be in the area in time to enjoy some BBQ at Lamont's.
Again, anyone coming from the west that wants to join up my schedule is not fixed. I just need to be in Maggie Valley on the 15th.:2excited:

When in Cincy

Hey Bootie, let me know when you make it to Cincy & maybe Teddy & I can meet up with you & show you some of the local sites on a SpYder Ryde :2thumbs:

Have fun. We will be in Platte City in September for a V-Rod Rally. Are you going to Basswood? They always treat us right. The people at the HD factory are super.

Yup, Basswood it is. I'll be there 6/9 thru 6/12. Leaving on Sunday, 6/12 for Maggie.

Hot hot hot

Left Akron around 12:30 just after a strong thunderstorm went thru. Ran into more rain in Columbus but the temp was 75-80. After that, the temp soared to about 100 deg. all the way to Cincinnati. I think I liked the rain better than the heat. Anyway my daughter's place is air conditioned.
I opened up the throttle to see how fast she would go with the trailer attached. 101mph was it. No faster. GPS says I only went 98. Fast enough for me, though.

I'll be taking the next leg to Cuba, MO tomorrow. Hope to stop in at Cowtown and say Hi before they close.
Other than the heat, today was pretty uneventful.

PS Hi to all the Cincinnati folks. Sorry I didn't have time to socialize. Maybe next time.

MV-Long Way Around

It looks like tomorrow will be another hot one. Ride safe and drink lots of water.
You got that right. 102 deg today for most of the trip. I went thru lots of water bottles. I made it to Cowtown and Len (PittBull) got me set up for a new set of Elka Shocks. (He and Lamont have some special deals for the BBQ).
Cowtown is one heck of a good dealership. It was only ~700mi here. Maybe I'll keep bringing my Spyder here for maintenance. 1400 mi round trip doesn't sound too bad, does it?:roflblack::yikes:They are a great dealership though, IMHO we should patronize them whenever we can.:dontknow::lecturef_smilie:
I'll be headed to Platte City tomorrow as soon as they install the new shocks. I can't wait to try them out on the Dragon when we get to MV.

MV here we come

:hun: When did they start to equip RTs with steering wheels? :roflblack:

Missouri residents only

Dear Toy
You may not be aware---- but another option available at spyderfest was an aftermarket steering wheel. ---- yes you can ride or drive an RT in Missouri.

I see what happens when you buy your Spyder at the mall. :joke:

smile

Riding it out of the mall was not all bad---you see I had to ride right past Victory Secrets store-------the smiles and waves were the precursor of my future rides.

Len, new setup is great. No sway with the trailer either. :2thumbs:
Ok, well it's Sunday(I think) and I am back in Cuba. Headed for Maggie via the Ozarks. It looks like a good ride from Cuba to Thayer, MO on the Arkansas border.:D About 150 miles. After that I'll head to TN and on East. I'll prolly stop in TN somewhere. Just need to be in MV on the 15th to get my reservations.

I caught it, but I reserved comment, seeing as how I had already chewed you up a bit.....and seeing as how you always get even. :roflblack: I knew what you meant...and besides, I kinda like the hidden meaning in your new interpretation. :D
