• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mackinac 2014 Planning

Hi All,

Summer is fast approaching and time to think about a bridge caravan. First off, and I'm sorry to say, I will need to bow out of the lead. I'm involved with 3 other volunteer commitments and just can't afford the time. So we'll need someone to step up to organize this. I will be glad to participate and help out. To start here are some ideas...

First we need a date. Weekends are the busiest and most expensive for lodging etc. August is the busiest month.
I did contact the Chamber in Mackinaw and they can plan the entire event of us if we want to stay in Mackinaw. They can arrange lodging, plan a barbecue, arrange a staging area and collect bridge crossing fees so we don't have to wait in the toll both line, etc. But... lodging would be in the $175-200 range + barbecue. This would be the easiest way to see Mackinaw

I found a convenient hotel in Pellston an easy ride to the bridge for about $150 a nite. And we can dine at the Dam Site Inn the BEST chicken dinner you'll ever have.

That's as far as I got. Post your interest to lead and/or participate.

Ron
