• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Love my new RT - thanks Simi Valley Can Am, California!

Picked up my new RT at the dealer last Saturday and have been riding it around. I absolutely love it and what a difference between it and my '08 GS. There was 1 mile on the odometer when we got to the dealer and then took it out for the 10 mile pre-purchase spin. I'm adjusting to the SE6 versus the SM5, and its been rather easy although I do find that downshifting myself seems to be smoother than letting the Spyder do it. I've got about 550 miles on it now and put 2 tanks of gas in; first tank I averaged 33 mpg in stop and go Los Angeles freeway traffic using the Eco mode and still less than 30 miles on the bike. The second tank was was 2 up down the freeway to Santa Barbara and back, using the Eco mode for the trip down and not on the trip back via Hwy 154; 35 mpg on that tank.

My only complaint is that the frunk latch is hanging up and does not fasten all the time. Had to call the dealership on the trip home from purchasing it, and ask what was going on. The tech said sometimes you have to jiggle the key (and not turn on the Spyder) and you can hear the latch click, so then you can close the frunk and it will latch. The tech said this was an issue with the '14's but that time and use should make the problem go away. I'm willing to wait until my 3,000 mile service - if it's not fixed then I'll have them warranty it.

Oh, and it needs to be aligned. Since I got my GS done, I know what to look for and for sure the left tire is out. So off to Las Vegas for Joe & Ann Meyer alignment magic! :D

Otherwise, with the high temps and gorgeous weather we're having on the Central Coast, I've been ryding as much as possible.

P.S. One other thing - it's important to let the RT warm up before putting into gear or the engine will die - I read somewhere here on SL that it is because the oil has to get pumped into the tranny - anyway, so I make sure it warms up for a minute or so, and then off I go. Just another little quirk to get used to :-)

You can buy a small can of Silicone spray lube with tiny nozzle and spray the key, inside the key ignition, front frunk latch pivot, cable, rear trunk key, key lock.
Also spray seat release cable, latch pivot (on right side under seat).
Enjoy your 2014 RT; they are awesome!!

Barbara I'm so happy that you love your new Spyder. I am sad that you converted to the SE though. :roflblack: :roflblack:I've never had a stalling problem with the SM but on the test Spyder (SE) it would sometimes stall when the engine was warm and I would put it into 1st or reverse. Never had it stall when the engine was cold.

Looking forward to seeing you and Chris on the 1st.

Congratulations fellow Triple 'base' RT owner!

My wife loves the white but we don't get the base RT in white over here. The triple engine is lovely, so smooth and refined; Enjoy,

Kind regards
Nito

Nito, be sure to post pictures of your new BRP "twins" ;)

Good luck with your new ride. Took mine out for a 70 mile ride today. Big improvement over our 2010 RT which actually was pretty good.
