• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lost power

2014 RT started messing out then lost power and died. Would not start unless throttle held open. Lights and instruments panel lights on, new battery last year. Have had no problems with it, just filled with gas the Day before. No codes displayed but engine light on. Came on when It started losing power. Took gas cap off, started off and then died! Does anyone know if this sounds like a gas filter problem. Hate to take it in for a gas filer problem at $120/Hr.!! Just watched Docs YouTube on changing a gas filer.....

How about model of Spyder and mileage? I changed my fuel filter last weekend at 26K miles; missed that it was a 19K job when I changed air filter. The actual changing job was about 10 min but getting that sucker out and back where it belongs was a PITA. On mine, the bolt that held the band clamp and filter to the frame had a Torx head that was a nuisance to move to where I could get a bit on it because it turned when I tried to loosen the acorn nut. BRP should have put a star washer on the bolt head. I have Oetiker clamp pliers and it was breeze cutting off the old clamps and installing new ones. The three zip ties holding wiring harness in place that I had to cut to get some room to maneuver the filter out were obvious. All in all it's not a difficult job; the flat rate manual for a '14RT says .6 hr. I spent some extra time cleaning dust and dirt off things under the L side tupperware so spent about two hours doing everything -- am always slow the first time.

Doc's video is very good and, if you don't have a Green Manual you don't have to worry about depressurizing the fuel system with B.U.D.S. as it says. I let mine sit overnight after a ride and had no fuel draining from either fuel line but that little critter holds about a jigger full so do have some rags handy.
