• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Loose Ends.....

When I tie down the duffle on the back of the Spyder I end up with loose ends on the tie down straps that flap in the wind.
Typically I just tie the loose ends down to the straps with overhand knots.

Is there a more elegant solution?

I do the same thing on all my motorcycles. I just wind the excess strap around the cinched portion, then secure the last bit with a single, overhand knot. If you have a tight pack, you don't even need the knot. I have yet to ever have one come loose. I use a different method with excess bike tie-down straps, looping the end through itself like parachute shrouds, then tying the last loop.

Spring Steel Paper Clips

I use those paper clips made of strong spring steel in sort of a U shape. The loose strap ends can be clamped against the taught part of the strap and held very snugly. I've never had an end come loose and start flapping in the breeze. Easy on and easy off. They also hold unused tie down straps in a roll when not is use to reduce the tangled snarled mess.

I wish I had discovered them years earlier
