• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

looking for step by step on how to take the RT mirror apart

Its one of those techniques much easier to show than tell. But I will try.

Hold the mirror housing with one hand on top and one on the bottom. Apply a sharp lift to the outer edge, thus unsnapping the two lower spring clips from the pegs. Then raise the edge of the housing near the bike up and off the top clip. The two lower spring clips release to the outside, the top clip is not spring loaded but a clevis that slides up and off. Once you have the housing in your hands, unplug the wiring connector by releasing the push tab on the side of the connector.

The exploded view in the service and parts manual helped me a lot in taking it apart. It mostly snaps together and knowing where the tabs are really helps.

I wish I could help. I want to do the same thing, but those plastic tabs scare me cause I don't want to do any permanent damage...

I mounted some strip LEDs onto my mirrors. After pushing the wires behind the mirror surface, I drilled a small hole thru the upper inside corner of the housing. I pulled the wires thru into the area where the mirror connects to the mounting holes. I drilled thru the web areas towards where the mirror's connecting wire is located. I pulled the LEDs wire thru these holes so they wouldn't interfere with attachment process of the mirrors. I tagged these wires into the morror's wire.
Hope this helps?
