• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Look Ma....no hands!

Happy...

l won't be around when they finally eliminate drivers...don't even like being a passenger now..!!:roflblack: but it's a coming....cars paralell parking themselves, sensors to avoid tailgating auto braking etc...maybe a simulator for the old guys...:dontknow:

Thanks Bob. I actually saw that speech in North Carolina at the NRA Convention so many years ago. I remember it well!

wow, it'll give the person behind the wheel more time to text, read, :banghead::banghead::gaah::gaah:

I for one think on the freeways around here that auto driving should be mandatory during commuting times!
The biggest reason for the bad grid lock we have is the way people are driving!
Texting, not paying attention, some going too slow, some going too fast and lane hopping, people waiting way to long to get over for an exit. You name it just all around bad driving.

If it was all controlled, I bet we would have no grid lock and everything would move.

Just for reference, I can drive into work with no traffic in 30 minutes. During rush hour it take up to 1.5 hrs! That is how bad it is. I am all for this during rush hour to get America moving again, save fuel, frustration, accidents, etc.

However, other than rush hour I would want to drive and not sit there like a passenger.

I am against it. One computer glitch--and they do happen--and toast for some unlucky person.

I am also against those who text (or do other things) and drive.

Distracted Driving:
We had a fatal incident on Friday where a man driving a moped on our main highway (about 50 mph is a 65 mph zone) was overrun by an SUV. Half of the Vespa was under the SUV and the driver was thrown onto the highway from the impact. There is no minimum speed law here, but the magic word is "impede" traffic. Police were called just before the accident happened and the officer determined the man was "keeping up." No stop was made and a mile or so later--the fatality. It seems the driver of the SUV was not paying attention to how fast he was closing on the Moped. At the moment, no charges have been filed.

There seems to be no good answer to either of the scenarios above. Automatic driving or distracted driving.
