Long signature blocks - request

I like a good signature block but come on! :dontknow: Some signature blocks are so long I have to scroll down nearly a full page to get to the next post! This is terrible on a laptop and even worse if on a phone.

I get it; people are proud of their rides, their trips, clubs etc. but can we just have a limit to how long a signature can be?
How about a link to a full page of whatever you want to announce. That way those of us who are not interested don't have to scroll through a page of stuff to get to the next post??

Not picking on anyone on the forum, some of the biggest 'violators' are decent, cool people who I respect and read their posts with great interest. I look at the form as more of a place to get information efficiently, scrolling 50% of the time is not the way.

Or can I turn off everyone's signature in a setting somewhere? :dontknow:

Thanks for this. I recently noticed this about my own, and did modify mine to put more than one mod per line, separated with pipes. I might do even more per line. What's really rough is when the signature has a large photo in it.

Look at AR's, Snoking - why not put your pics side by side? (Always with a space between the pics tho, just like AR's ) Then your sig block won't hafta be quite so long!!

And some might want to think about make their pics a bit smaller - we've already hadta take some down that were just TOOO BIG, but there's no real need to push the Maximum limits of the page/pic size, is there?? :dontknow:

I like mine the way it is too. I have been here since 2012 and this is the first time I remember any problems about signature size. I view on Android, tablet or laptop.

LOL, of course the "offenders" will see no issues.... and I guess if the majority decides there should be no limits then that's how it will be. I wonder what the moderators think, as ultimately they will decide what changes to make.

I want to be politically correct and don't want to offend anyone, but frankly some just don't care about all the stuff on large signature blocks. It just looks like a large ad, and everyone hates ads (unless your the one selling something) Forums are for sharing information, that's why we have topics and sections rather than one big free for all forum.

I vote for making signature blocks smaller, but also having a member homepage or spotlight link that anyone who is interested can click on and open up a full post on anything you want, as much as you want. Throw a counter on it, so everyone can see how many times someone opened the page to see the forum members bio page, places visited, clubs and other stats.

I also would vote for making visible signature blocks optional.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I often come here to learn or ask questions. I don't like being detracted from my goal with ads.

The moderators have spoken. ***** No harm no foul. It was just a question and opinion.

Time to make the longest signature line possible and post on every thread (with a real comment, not spam) - if you can't beat them~ join them. :thumbup:
