• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Locking a Shoei Neo Tec2 Helmet

I have 2 orf the Shoei Neo Tec2 helmets with the new metal slide locking system. I am hoping someone on here either has or can come up with a solution for locking the helmets as they do not have a D ring for locking. I have called Shoei and they were no help other than say buy a plastic cable and lock to the bike. I would like to make something but I do not have the stuff needed. I would like to make a receiver for the metal slide that has a key lock and a way to lock to the bike. I may just stick with the cable and padlock.

If you are talking about the slide latch on the chin straps instead of the 2 D rings, then the LidLock 'T' bar that you put thru the D rings then lock to the bike will also work with those slide latches. You just slide the 'T' bar thru the latch instead of the strap, then lock the end of the 'T' into the LidLock as you would normally.

LidLocks are good that way, work with the 2 D rings OR the Slide Latch.

I have modular helmets and IMO the most secure way to lock them is with a plastic sheathed cable the goes through the eyeports and the passenger grab bar.
Hardware stores carry the cable and the clamping devices that are simply set with a hammer. Buy enough length to be able to set each helmet on the two seats. Just make a loop at each end of the cable add a padlock and viola, you have a helmet lock.

Count me in on the Lidlox.. Very easy to use and work with all helmets. I have ones with the slide lock and ones with D-rings.

Lidlox Tbar goes through the clasp.

I like to use a cable lock as when it gets hot and we stop to walk around or eat I can run the cable through my sleeve and leave my jacket with the bike and it's safe.
