• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Locked Up

Not my engine fortunately, but the lock on one of my brand new Can Am (Givi-made) hard saddlebags. It happened a few days after I was caught in a very heavy downpour so I'm assuming it may be water related. You'd think such a lock would be more water resistant. The key works fine on the other side so I know the key is ok.

Anyone have this happen to them? Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I don't want to break the key off in the lock. Of course my only helmet and gloves are locked inside so I can't ride until it's opened. :banghead:

Is there a locksmith in the house? Help!

ors did this when new. spay some Wd 40 on the Locke and the release area on the top. push in with your tight while working the key you may have to push frimly in but don't turn the keg hard and break it. it will open once it does lube the release bar inside the bag look in you will see the moving parts once you work it open and close a while wipe off any lube and it will be fine.

FYI if it continues to stick it may be mount out of alinement and if so you will need to correct this just mount it loosen the mount and wiggle it around some and see if it works better

The bags we got had different keys for each bag. Did you make sure you are using the right key?

You keys should fit each bag you must have got an miss matched set Mine came with 2 key in the truck and 2 keys in the bags all keyed the same

:yikes:mine came with 2 keys in each bag that are the same but the 2 that came with the back box only fit it.

Problem Solved

Thank you for all the excellent advice. I received four sets of keys with my saddlebags and they were fortunately all exactly the same but none would work. So I stopped by Lowes to pick up some Lock-Ez graphite lock lubricant but couldn't find it. Instead they carried this: Dupont Lock Lubricant . I'm always careful about what I use on locks but I gave it a try. It solved the problem in just a few minutes. It's a small bottle so I'll carry it from now on in the frunk. Don't want to be locked out again.

Thanks again to all who helped. I'm back on the road again.
