• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If anyone on here has been a living donor transplant for a liver, would you P.M. me? I have a question or two.

Thanks

If someone is tempted to be funny, please save that for another thread.

I would hope no one would make light of this serious matter. I would have something to say about that. Hope you get your answers.

Not able to donate... but the gift of life is indeed the most precious one! nojoke
As I understand it; you can donate a portion of your liver to a person in need; it just grows back!

can't

being i had prostate cancer in 1998 they will not let me donate or give blood anymore, but someone told me not too long ago that they are taking blood again from some cancer survivors

It only takes a few weeks to completely regenerate for both receipient and donor.

Can a person whom is on coumadin (blood thinner) be a donor? I don't know enough about the process to say so. Hope all is well with you and your family.

depends

i would think what you are taking it for might be the most important. being it is a blood thinner i am guessing you are taking it for heart issues, if so you might be at too much of a risk. however if you needed surgery for some reason they would have you stop taking it for at least a week so that you can stop bleeding during surgery
