• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Listening to radio

I was out an about and came across one of those 20 minute trains that course through the city and rather than leave the bike running I hit the mode button and turned the machine off. Radio stayed on and then maybe 2 minutes into the tunes, the display shows limp home mode. I am stopped so no limping here. Train finished going through so turn key to start bike and display looks 'scratchy', bike starts ok and away we go. Is that limp home message something that is in memory somewhere or like Microsoft, a feature of the listening to the radio?

No worries, its "Normal"

Since there is no way to put the byke in "accessory" mode like you can a car, its the only way to keep power live for running the radio. Not sure why BRP designed it to show "Limp Mode" but as you found, no foul, no harm, and it clears as soon as you restart the :spyder2: Just one of the unique properties of the Spyder:thumbup:

Just for the record, is there a way to listen to radio after stopping? thanks.

Yes. After you shut the bike off, press and hold the mode button few a few seconds. To turn The radio off, turn the emergency flasher button on then off.

yea i learned that off trick at spyderfest..always play the radio while washing the bike and at reststops and hotels when sitting outside.i usally start the engine after about an hr of play just to keep the battery fresh.

Supposedly the computer will shut the radio off when it determines the battery is beginning to run down. Anyone want to test it and report back?
