• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does anyone know what this plug is for what what’s behind it? I have a slight leak from it & would like to fix it, but want to make sure before I pull it out.

Left side of engine, pic needs to be rotated clockwise 90 degrees.

What model Spyder do you have? There may be someone here to help you, but it would help them if they knew what machine we're talking about.

Mine are both RTs. I wouldn't know what the left side of the engine looks like!

They call the cover that it is in, the "valve train cover" and shows it to be removable without any issue. There is an o-ring on it and of course it is recommended to replace it each time the "plug screw" is R&R'ed.... This is from my PDF manual for my 2015 F3-S.

Its not the transmission side. Left side is the left side of the bike.

I just seen that on mine when I removed the ECU from the left side of the RT

I am posting in the 1330 section right? Figured all 1330 engines were the same *♂️

I wouldn’t think that would be called the valve train cover, I would have thought more like crankcase, for it being so low down on the engine.

They are. But RT owners very rarely glimpse a view of their engines. So, not familiar with what it looks like. Someone with a 'naked' bike like an F3 may be more familiar with what you're asking about. Just trying to help.

Well....

Looks to be the plug covering the bolt used to manually turn the engine when realigning the cams. Remove it and replace the o-ring and should be fine. Interesting it should be leaking if no one has messed with it...

From looking at the electric starter parts list and crankshaft for the 2018 F3 it appears to be as Gene says a screw cap that gives you access to the crankshaft so you can turn it by hand with some kind of tool.
