• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LEFT side antenna base?

Is there such a thing as an antenna base (the rubber grommet) for the left side? The right is part is "RH Radio Antenna Base 708300156" but I don't see a LH listed. I tried the RH base on the left and of course its the wrong angle. What do they use for CB antenna? I'm looking at mounting a ham antenna down in there and having the mast come out the hole but need a waterproof cover like the RH radio?

LH ANTENNA BASE

Since the left side is used for the CB set-up.....I think they have a different BASE for that antennae.......That's why they only list RIGHT HAND.............Mike

The base for the left side is included in the CB radio kit.
I don't know if you can find it from any other sources; perhaps a wrecked bike that has been parted-out? :dontknow:

Try the Salvage websites; good luck!

Try looking for the replacement CB antenna service kit. The see if they list part number rubber antenna boot. Ask a dealer as he may have one kicking around he will sell you.

Here's what you want. Your dealer should be able to get them for you since there are individual part numbers for them.

LH side Antenna Protective Boot - 708300155

Antenna Support - 710001532

You'll want the support to mount the antenna but you may have to drill and tap it for the correct thread on the antenna.

Thanks. I can't find that number, I'll check with a dealer. Just odd that online parts places wouldn't have it listed if it is a valid can am part #. If what I want to do works all I need it the boot to slide over a ham antenna. I'm looking at putting the base of the antenna inside (will need to mod the box a bit) and have the mast come out the existing hole. Just need to waterproof it with boot.

The boot is part of the CB antenna kit. The dealer should be able to get it. Online parts places don't stock parts for which there is next to no call for them.

If you can make your ham antenna fit the support block that would be a whole lot easier way to mount it, IMO, since the support block fits into the box very snugly.
