• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

LCD on RT-S Goes Blank when lightly brushed by hand

Anyone else have this issue:hun: I noticed one day that some rain droplets were on the clear plexiglass that covers the LCD screen and the MPH & Tach guages. While wearing full gloves, I lightly brushed the plexiglass to wipe the water off, and my LCD went black. Basically shut off, went thru the reboot, then went into the "Press Mode Button To Start" Display. This happened while going down the road at 30-40mph. The byke itself didn't miss a beat, just the dispay. I actually had to push the mode button, then it went back to normal showing my actual speed and everything else.

Since then, it happens quite frequently, but only when my hand brushes the LCD display (I know, then dont do that-:roflblack:) then it goes thru the same routine of shutting down:mad:. I was at my dealership today, and got it to do it in front of the service Mgr. about 3 times, and he was at a loss :dontknow: He tried it, but it didnt do it for him. Peirrelogic was there, and I showed him, & he tried it, and it did it once for him :helpsmilie:I have to take it in for my 12K maintenance on Monday & the Service Mgr. said they'd probably have to call BRP Tech. Support, cause he's never heard of anything like this :gaah:

Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if I'm in this boat all by myself :(

Having had my gauge out a few times my guess is the plug is not snapped in all the way.

Thanks Lamont :2thumbs: As soon as the Daytona 500 is over, I'll be out in the garage checking the connections & report back any findings.

Still seems unlikely to me that it would be a connection, as I'm not putting any pressure on the display, just ever so slightly brushing the plastic over the display. But I have no clue what it could be, so your suggestion is a good place to start

Mine did it today after brushing some dust off with a gloved hand. Didn't go all the way to mode as your's did, it just flashed twice and that was it. It stayed normal the rest of the ride. I'm guessing static electric discharge. It's been very dry here and a static build up could cause this to happen. I would definately follow Lamonts instructions as well. I plan on checking mine too.
