There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. laws about fender removal? and exhaust!

I was just wondering if there were any laws about removing the fenders? I don't know if I will do it yet but it does look pretty kool! On that note of seeing pics of spyders without fenders is there not a way to like put a board or something that everyone can put a pic of there spyder on instead of looking individually?! There are a lot of kool paint jobs I've seen!

Cheers!

It would be a state to state thing and there is nothing in NC about fenders. As for the pics..I think there is a My mods section in the forums..not sure of the exact name.

Well im in colorado and don't know where to find that stuff out really. And I saw the mods section but I was thinking one big page with everyones pics!

A quick google shows there is no law preventing it as there are many older style cars that don't have them in the first place. There are even brand new sports cars with no vendors...I just forget the name. Of course, I have let the pass my BAR exam.
I think we can start a thread with just spyder pics. If someone wants more detail on a mod..put it in a seperate thread...thoughts.

Right on! I saw the thread hope that works. It is nice to comment though that's why I was thinking of something like a gallery but I don't know if that works on this kinda site! Thanks!

Unless Colorado is one of the states that doesn't recognize the Spyder as a motorcycle, you are breaking a newly passed Colorado State Law requiring all motorcycles 1975 and newer be equipped with stock exhaust. You are riding around with that fairly loud Hindle exhaust and you are worried about fender laws?

Yeah I know! Dumb law imo! But my spyder isn't near as loud as my friends bikes, and I very much know theirs and tons of the harleys that stop at the local pub don't have stock ones! I was worried more about instant visual wrong doings for them to see!

I would be hard press for anyone that has never seen a spyder to pull one over and say the Hindle is not stock. It looks more stock than the brown stock can...hehe. it even has the Sypder logo.
Now, my luck, I would be pulled over by the only cop that owns a spyder. Or maybe the officier on these forums..need to stay away from his town.
hehe.

I agree! That's one of the reasons I chose the hindle, it looks like it goes with the spyder to me!

I know in some states if you have tires on a truck that are wider than the fenders you must but mud flaps on that are as wide as the tire. I'm sure it is against the law to take the rear fender off but will you get stopped for it is another question

Yes, usually cars and trucks are required to have their tires fit within their wheel wells as the vehicle was originally manufactured or the vehicle must be fitted with the necessary components to comply. Motorcycles are often required to have their front fender installed, but since the seat is basically the rear fender, the little black fender extensions is normaly considered a plate mount. That being said, most states have a generic, subjective catch all law that holds you responsible for the condition of your vehicle whether stock or modified if it causes problems or an accident or unsafe to operate. The fenders are for containment of water/debris and/or the tire itself. Arizona has such a problem with stones through the windshield it often requires seperate insurance policies for windshields...so the fender law is probably in effect here.
