Lamonster's RIP Boards ...

Anybody install Lamont's RIP boards on their F3?

What do you think of them? How'd the installation go?

Love them

They are fantastic for me, Bagger. Easy install of around an hour including pre reading instructions, plus Lamount has an install video. (I didn't have to apply heat to get the pegs off the mounts as I already had boards).

Plenty of room for bloody big feet.
They also make the brake pedal a little lower so it's much more easily accessible and at a much better angle.
They make mounting the F3 a breeze.
They move my feet an inch further forward over the BRP boards, which is great for me, but they are so long that the will work well for shorter legs too.

A huge amount of work has obviously gone in to their design.

I can't recommend them highly enough.

Thanx, Pete ...

Thanx for your review, Pete. I think they will be a great farkle to my F3-S.

I just ordered a set. Looking forward to hooking them up.

I'll have to get a small torch to heat up the stock bolts. Harbor Freight, or Amazon Prime sounds about right.

I just watched Lamont's vid of the install. Looks pretty straight forward. But, wonder how long to heat up the oem bolts before trying to take them off. There's a rubber bushing inside, don't want to melt that, eh.

What do you think?

Can't add much more than Pete. Yes, super easy install. And lots more comfortable. More room to move your feet to different positions. And the brake pedal is so much more easy to apply! And, they look great! Tom :spyder:

Drop Lamont a PM, Bagger.....I'm sure he'll tell you exactly....

....... and yeah, very straight forward. Just make sure you have a full range of hex drivers (sorry, can't remember which), and when you take the frame bolts out for the rear mounts, be aware that the frame bars will drop a couple of millimetres. This is NOT a problem in itself, but if you don't notice the drop, you will be scratching your head trying to figure out why the bolts won't go back in......don't ask me how I know ! :hun:

Next project for big hands - Bajaron sway bar.......I hope it is similarly easy on the F3-L. I have bought a pair of mechanics gloves as my hands have only just recovered from my air horn install ;)

I really like my Lamonster RIP boards. They make riding much more comfortable for me. I had my pegs in position 5 (all the way front). The RIP boards made my feet sit at a comfortable angle and I really couldn't be happier with them.

The install was straight forward. I used a heat gun to heat up the stock bolts in the stock pegs. They came right out. I held the heat gun on each bolt for almost 1 minute. It didn't damage the rubber bushings at all. I did watch the install video that Lamonster made and it helped make the install smooth and easy.

I have had boards on all my previous bikes. The Lamonster RIP boards are by far the best I have ever had. Take note on installation, heat up the peg bolts before trying to take them out. As Lamont states in is install video, you will strip the hex head of the bolt if you don't. Once the bolts have been heated to loosen the blue locktite, start loosen both bolts at the same time.
