• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lamonster Comes Through(again)

I was in Maggie Valley when I noticed my ISCI handbrake wasn't releasing after braking. It being Sunday I couldn't go to a dealer for help. I did not have my tools with me. I gave Lamont a call and he said I could use his garage and tools to ferret out the cause. Some of you may remember that Lamont's is about 70 miles from Maggie Valley.
To make a long story short, it took several hours to find that the SLAVE CYLINDER was FUBARed. I told Lamont what I found and he said "YOU KNOW I HAPPEN TO HAVE A SPARE ONE OF THOSE". I couldn't believe it. How many people (in the world) would happen to have a spare ISCI slave cylinder on hand? I installed it and it worked just fine. Problem solved!
I can't thank Lamont enough and I thank my lucky stars that he had a spare on hand.:2thumbs:

Same thing happened to another Spyder Ryder when riding the Alcan Hwy. Caused Spyder to keep going into limp mode.

Bootie, glad it worked out for you. your a luck man these days, you called my wife to bring you oil in northern KY today., but i heard you called back and the police were there to help. you sure get around! its nice having people! Spyderlover people are everywhere. call anytime Brucenojoke

Luck ran out

:yikes:I was almost to Cinci when I got Zero Oil Pressure reading on my newly installed oil pressure Gage. I finally put some more oil in and started it up.:(OIL OIL EVERYWHERE. Spyder is in the shop now. Don't know what the problem is. I suspect that my new oil pressure system has blown. I hope I didn't ruin the engine.

I was going to ask you about that gauge when I saw the sending unit. Did the fitting crack or something?

Warning-oil pressure Gage.

OK, I'm back on the road again. Problem was that the Oil Pressure Sending unit hangs off of the T-Fitting. Engine vibrations caused the fitting to crack and break off.:yikes: the sending unit is pretty heavy and with the engine vibrations it's pretty hard on the T-fitting.
For those of us that want to continue to use an oil pressure Gage, we need to either anchor the sending unit so it doesn't vibrate or find a stronger T, or both. :lecturef_smilie:

Thanks for all your offers of help:thumbup:It looks liked more oil would not have helped. It's good to know you are there, though.

Can you find a flex hose to fit? That way you could mount the sender remotely.

Oil pressure

Putting a hose on it would work but remember the oil is around 75psi and is hot. I don't know if we'd be asking for more trouble. That's why we opted for the electrical sending unit in the first place. Oh well, live and learn.

True. I was thinking more along the line of having a hydraulic hose made up...possibly with a braided stainless outer. It comes down to which is riskier...both carry a possibility of failure.
