• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I can't tell you how ready I am for a long trip right now. I've been preparing for this trip for a few weeks now and I have all my gear and my RT in good shape for the ride. I'm very excited about the area that we will be riding in, it's been years since on ridden in that part of the country and for sure it's one of my favorite places to ride. If you haven't been there you're in for a real treat. I can't think of a better vehicle to do this trip on than the Spyder RT, my second choice would be my RS.

BajaRon and I will be heading out at 5am to meet with Harvey and his boys in AR. It's only about 600 miles so we'll get there in plenty of time to hangout and help Harvey with whatever he may need. From there I really don't know what the plan is other than we're heading west toward Durango. The plan is to be setup in Durango on Monday, I'll be heading to Albuquerque NM Tuesday morning to meet with the group heading to Durango. The original plan was for me to stop in Abq. first but that plan changed and I'm just going to roll with it. We'll be leaving Abq. at 8am on Wednesday and should be rolling into Durango with plenty of time to check in and kick some tires.

As always I plan on posting pics and videos here on SpyderLovers for you folks that couldn't make the trip. If I do it right this will be the next best thing to being there. Check back to this post daily to get caught up on the trip and the event. :doorag:

You are right about that area. I have riden it three times in the last five years. Durango, Cortez, Teluride and so many more great areas. Enjoy all. I'll be with you in spirit.

So, you are coming to Arkansas. I would ride out to Harvey's to meet up with you, but unfortunately I'll be working. Safe travels.

Rode that area maaannny years ago. I did it on a 350 Honda. Man, wish I could do it on the RTS. :( Will have to be content to ride it vicariously through Lamonts videos.

Did a bit more polishing and cleaning today before my departure tomorrow at 5AM for Durango. Looks like there'll be a break in the local weather, so all is good to go! Should be there Monday.

We made it to SpyderPops place but it was a fight all the way. Ron didn't sleep at all last night and I didn't sleep much and both of us started going on the nod on the road. Ron was actually talking in his sleep as we were diving. We had the headsets on so we could talk along the way but when Ron would get quiet I would say something and sometimes he didn't reply back at all and that was freaking me out. At one point he said some random things and then when he woke up he said he didn't say anything.

So unlike either of us we took some stops in between fuel stops just to walk it out and try and change up the pace a bit. That helped but it was a real fight still. Then we got stuck in major traffic and it was hot, my temp said 102 and we weren't moving at all. I was watching my new temp gauge on the RT and the hottest it got was 226 degrees but most of the time it was running around 216. The last 100 miles or so I was getting over heated and it really took it out of me. By time we got to Harvey's place I was done. The trip was 650 miles but it took us 12 hours to run it.

Harvey really has a nice shop here and I am so jealous of his setup. This a man cave to envy for sure. He has all the tools and lifts a guy could want and he even had a spare tire that we had to swap out on Ron's Spyder. That's another story but I'm too beat to go into that.

We have another long hot day tomorrow but I should sleep good so I hope to have a better day than today. Here's some pics of SpyderPops man cave.
