• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Key won't depress and open seat nor frunk

Spyder it a 2010, RT AC, SM5. Long story, but the end result was I over stuffed the frunk trying to put someone else's gear on my bike, I got the key to turn left to open the frunk, had to wrench it hard down an left to finally spring the latch and finally got it open to repack the frunk. Frunk would not latch and lock now. I could live with the frunk not latching, so off I go. The spyder was full of gas, so we went and slayed the dragon and stopped for lunch and gas a hundred miles down the road. Crap, the key will not depress and turn right to open the seat, started freaking out, got calmed down, grabbed the flashlight and figured out the seat latch, reached in and opened the seat, yeah I could get gas. Made it home and now have the upper, lower plastics off, removed the dash, windshield and instruments. I can see the ignition switch, but cannot move any of the cables the open the frunk, seat, nor does the electric frunk switch work. Still cannot depress the key to turn right, can depress and turn right but the frunk will not open and lock correctly.
So the question to the community, is: Has any one had this problem? And better yet, how did you get it fixed?
not looking forward to replacing the ignition assembly, hopefully I can repair it without taking it to the shop.

Let's see..!!

overstuffing and forcing never works well. If the funk is stuffed (and I do it a lot) the best way is to press on the lid at the latch before turning the key. Now you have to check and realign the latches proabably check the cables and switches and see if it helps. You may have to get into the ignition switch as well..good luck..

I have a 2010 Canam rt and had problems with the seat not releasing. Both times it was a cable adjustment. The dealer did it under my 2 yr warranty, but it is still not right. Before the warranty is up I will have it replaced. The frunk works fine. I have a safety release for the seat, just in case. Good luck.

Safety release

How did you do a safety release for the seat? I had an issue with my 14 that turned out to be the ingnition switch recall, I could live with the frunk not opening for a bit but would sure like to know how to release the seat in case of emergency.

Key will depress, but not turn to the right.

I had a good look at the ignition switch, but could not see where the problem was. The cables looked intact, so I did the only thing I could. Admit defeat and put it all back together and took it to the dealer so my mechanic can fix it. Thanks for the input, but this was way beyond my comfort level to fix.
