• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was cleaning my “old” RT (2010 bought in June 2011) this morning and thinking about my “Navigator” and my upcoming Grand Canyon ryde. Scoot3r has 33,000 miles (not that many) accumulated over five years of road trips and nearly daily commutes. I have had relatively few problems and, best of all, it’s now paid off. I really like this motorcycle and it’s probably the best road cycle I’ve owned over some 55 years. It’s comfortable, stable, the 998 has all the power I need for my riding style, and-silly as it may sound-I like the sound of the V-twin. All of this got me also thinking; how many other forum members have older RT’s that they are completely happy with?

I have a 2013. RT Limited SE5, 40,000+ miles. After recall rework done, I am not interested in giving her up! We will grow old together.

See Spyderjockey's comments in the thread about the Spyders with over 100,000 miles on them.
(It's in the General Discussion area.)

milage

We have 32000 and nothing but oil and tire changes. We will be replacing the drive belt, sprockets and bearings at the end of this month. It is an 2012 RTL:bowdown:

I have 19,100 miles on my 2010 RT-S, Bought it brand new in March of 2010 haven't had any trouble. I'm very happy with this machine.

Well....

Don't have an RT but do love the twin in my RS with 35,000 trouble free miles...:2thumbs:

Until a fairly expensive breakdown during Spyderfest I had a 2010 RT.
A bike I really, really loved.
Possibly the saddest day of my motoring life was when it was gone.
The VTwin was really strong and I liked how it revved

The 1330 that I now have is torquey and smoother.
The tranny has one more gear that my thumb memory still refuses to acknowledge.

All in all, from my perspective, there is very little lacking in the 998 Twin.

Sue and I enjoy our 2011.RTS. 37,000 MILES and counting. Replaced the rear brake pads this.morning. Keep on Spydering......

2010 rts

25000 miles and l love it:ohyea:

I would rather ryde my 2013 RS than my wife's 2014 RTL. They both have just a little over 3,000 miles on them.

We have a 2011 RT that we bought in 2013. 2013,2014 trouble free then Father's Day 2015. Bike had major issues. DPS unit, throttle body, some rubber boots and Stator. We bought it at 16k and this all happened at 22k we now have 25k and thus far this year have been trouble free. We looked at the F3 today but decided against it for now. We just really like the RT and soon it will be paid for.
