Well, I sold my nine year old Harley and bought a lightly used 2012 Spyder RT-S. Best decision I ever made when it comes to motorcycles. These are really great machines. Zero problems in the first few hundred miles and the storage is fantastic. My helmet, gloves and jacket all fit in the "frunk" with plenty of more storage in the rear.
Some people claim acceleration is not very good, but I would say that it is decent as long as you don't short shift. On a recent ride with a friend riding a big twin Harley, I had no problems at all keeping up.
Riding the spyder did take a bit of adjustment compared to riding a two wheeler, but I am now a believer. Definitely better exercise and more upper body strength required for twisty roads than a two wheeled motorcycle.
Anyone that says the Spyder can't corner well probably doesn't know how to ride one.
So far my only mods are installing cargo nets in the top and side cases, but I am considering doing a self-install of the Garmin 660 GPS.
