• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just got it home. "New to me" 2012 Spyder RT-SE5

I'm so excited to have this Spyder but the only problem is that I don't know how to ride it. My hubbadub had to drive it home for me but that's ok, I'm a fast learner. We purchased it at Mancuso Power Sports (Gulf Freeway) just outside of Houston. Someone (who I am sure is on the forum) traded it for a 2014. I plan on taking a trike safety course asap in addition to learning via the hubbadub. For some reason I am unable to upload a pic. but the color is blue.

You'll enjoy and learn some good stuff in the trike MSF course. I did even though I'd already attended the two wheel advanced rider course..

Congrats!

:congrats:on your "New to me" 2012 Spyder RT-SE5 !! :yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

You have a great ryde there....we really enjoyed our 2012 RT Limited and had no issues with ryding it -- rode it 7,650 miles in 2013 -- enjoyed it greatly.....our first Spyder has now been traded to go to the 2014 RT Limited.....your 2012 RT is a solid ryde and I'm sure you will get miles of smiles out of it.....

Here's a couple pics of my 2012:

Diddo on 2012 blue being better looking and faster. Welcome to the fun

If you find the body roll to be a bit more than you like have your hubbadub install a Baja Ron sway bar, they make a world of difference.

See the earth with the X above, the square icon next to that is how you upload a photo.

Welcome and good on you for signing up for the course. Always were the right gear even though you have 3 wheels. We have some riders on here over 80! we should all live that long and ride.

And yes, blue is a faster color but might not be the highest MPG bike...

Welcome to the wonderful world of spyders! Don't worry about learning to ride. You will learn. Just take it slow and easy. Ride around your neighborhood so you can get a feel for the bike and how it handles. The most important thing is to build up your confidence. I strongly recommend you take the MSF (Motorcyle Safety Foundation) 3 wheeled trike course. This course will satisfy the requirements for the 3 wheeled trike license which you need. You will be loving the bike in no time at all. :dg1:

:congrats: on your new ryde. :welcome: to the party. Some suggestions for learning to ryde.

:ani29:: Watch the video that came with your new :spyder2:. It should be with the instruction manual.
:ani29:: Give yourself an hour or two of parking lot time. Per the video. Practice controlling at low speed and get the stopping and starting up procedures nailed.
:ani29:: Try a country road or two. Practice where you can do 30-40 miles per hour, try curves and hills. Get confident with your :ani29:.
:ani29:: Get it up to 55 and get more comfortable.
:ani29:: Bravery test time--do some 60+ mph driving.

If you are new to this, and it sounds like you are, you will find that about 500 miles or so will have you getting comfortable with the machine.

Enjoy your new experience.
