• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just darned impressed on how these Spyders handle heavy weather

My commute is about 65 miles each way, so Spyder gets a workout. Yesterday I didn't make it home before a BIG series of thunderstorms rolled through. High winds, driving rain, some hail.

Spyder was solid as a rock. A few gusts tossed both me and cars around a little, but I'd put them at 45mph or more direct crosswind.

Only complaint is I was freezing my ... nose .. off. 91f to 68f in a span of maybe 10 minutes, and completely soaked. It came up so fast I didn't have time to pull over and put the rain gear on.

Once I was off the Interstate, the twolanes had running water over them, Spyder still didn't have any issues.

She looks like crap today, mud and other dirt all over the back and up the fender sides from what was on the road, but wow...these things are safe as houses.

Agree..!!

weather has a way of catching you by surprise. I sure am happy to be on a roadster and as mentioned above wish I had had one when I did what I could on a two wheeler back when. We have hit it all on one mountain pass, rain, sleet, hail, snow and when we got back to the rain it was actually quite nice cause it was warmer coming down. They do keep you on the road and tracking nicely. We try to avoid it but you can't always get away from it...

Glad to hear you enjoy the commute rain or shine. I used to do the 40 miles round trip to Anchorage every day when I was working. Usually put less than a 1000 miles on my car every riding season.

One word of caution about riding in deluges. Driving through standing water (an inch or more) at over 55 mph will cause the :spyder2: to hydroplane. Nanny has saved my bacon twice, and I consider myself lucky.

We have tire grooves in most of the roads (caused by studded snow tires in the winter). They hold water very nicely.

I agree with everything posted so far and will add that since I switched to car tires on my 13 RTS,, I've not experienced the hydroplaing issue at all.. Love the Spyder :)
