• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helps to tell us what you are riding. Some RT owners have had this problem ('11 & '12's) at the same 41-44 mph speeds but usually in 2nd or 3rd gear (you should not be in 4th gear @ 40mph) and traced it to tires. Either broken or slipping belts, lost wheel weights or improper alignment.

You just have to experiment with wheels and tires with your dealer to find the solution.

If 40 in 4th gear does it; but it stops if you try 40 in 5th; it's not lugging...
A balance issue for the tires would continue to shake at 40; regardless of the gear...
I don't know...
What would Scotty say??? :dontknow:

Little checking..!!

on your profile and see you have an RT S. Really lugging if you are playing with 4th and 5th gear at 40 mph. I don't get out of 2nd at 40 mph. Regardless, have you had any work done lately..? You could have the balance checked but not likely the problem. If it only does it occasionally it is hard to tell. Harmonics or road condition could cause it. If it gets more constant or worse have it checked for alignment, balance and tires. If your is a se5 you need to get your rpms up to get full engagement on the clutch...;)

A drivetrain or tire problem will occur at the same speed no matter what gear you are in. If the problem only occurs in higher gears at this speed, perhaps only under load, check your tach. Your rpm is probably too low and the engine is protesting. That is a classic sign of lugging the engine. It seems like tire shake but it is really the engine shaking.
