Jean Luc's Rear Wheel

I have either a moderate or severe case of OCD, depending on who is describing it.

The object of my compulsion right now is keeping the rear wheel & sprocket of my F3 clean.

I was barely aware my RT had a back wheel.
Something was holding up the tail of the Y but I didn't give it much thought.
Maybe I cleaned it two or three times in the five years I owned it.

But the wheel on F3 is right out there, naked and exposed.
And it gets real dirty.
Cleaning the wheel with a cloth by sticking my fat little hand with my pudgy fingers in between the spokes, the drive sprocket and the wheel is still another tribute to Jean Luc's genius.

Other than a pressure washer, does anyone have any suggestions?

I used a wooley wheel brush or I used a all wheel cleaner now that worked great..Dont really have to touch the rear wheel and made it look like new on my RT

Merlin's Blood - that's the product you can get from Tire Grafix, or at least it was sold at Spyderfest from their booth. I bought a couple bottles and tried it after I got home, and it works well.

Long brush

We use a long brush and soapy water. Easier if you jack up the rear wheel.

I agree with you: the rear wheel of an RT is only noticed, when folks are complaining about where Jean-Luc hid the valve-stem. :gaah:

Tough one...

You used to have an alpaca or two but I think their spit will remove paint...:roflblack::roflblack: I manage with a microfiber cloth. Most of it is belt and brake dust and wipes off. I find if I wet it it makes the job a real pain...:banghead: wheel cleaner works....
