I got a JBL MS-A1004 4ch 400w amp. Wired it all up with 8gauge power and 16guage wires from the speakers. Even 16 guage wires from the radio output leads (Speaker level only).
You may have seen my other thread were I had some difficulty getting it to work. Well, it really had to do with settings on the AMP and dumbing down the factory radio settings. Set the Bass and Treble on the dask to zero. Set the fader to center. On the AMP set the sensor for turn on to OFF. Why? It wouldnt let the amp turn off. The AMP also comes with a remote turn on. Connected that to a nearby switched twelve volt positive lead that goes to a powerlet outlet used for my XM Radio.
I also found I had blown the woofer part of the two polk audio rear speakers. So those will need to be replaced. The AMP also needed proper settings of the Digital Signal Processor. I will be trying on the road tomorrow. reports to follow.
Mounting... Well right now I have it just sitting on the rear trunk. I need to see if the amp gets hot. The ideal place to mount will be up against the rear seat in the rear trunk. The AMP is only 2.7" x 7x8 or so. It will fit nicely.
