• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is a good jack to use for winter storage. Where can you get one and how much. I live near Allentown, PA. Thank you for your help.:helpsmilie:

You can use just about any motorcycle type jack to lift it and you can use any automotive jack stands to hold it up.

What is winter storage?

WINTER STORAGE = It's when you store your Summer stuff, Take out your Winter stuff, And ride with your Winter stuff in the winter. :ohyea:

Cold, it's mind over matter= If you don't have a mind it just does'nt matter. :D:D

Sorry, but I for one will never lift anything over 5# again on a cheap arse H.B. lift. Fool me once, its shame on you.... fool me twice it's shame on me.

There is a Harbor Freight store near my house and I stopped in there one day. They had tons of tools and the prices were really cheap but if you looked at the country of manufacture, everything said Made in China. A lot of the stuff looked and felt chintzy once you got it in your hands. I sure wouldn't stake my life on anything I bought there.

Sh*$^y

materials not to be trusted. Was helping a freind work on his Harley. Had the bagger 3" off the ground, when one of the bolts sheared in half. the bike had the kick stand down, only thing that helped us. My freind said it was the 3rd time, the lift had ever been used. It was the last time I think it was also ever used. Gene

I have several tools ordered from harbor freight and if you look at what your buying its not too bad, is it craftsman but some of it holds up. I have not used their jacks but I have heard their motorcycle lifts are crap.

Trickie Dick, the key words here is light weight. by the way what you bought is not the motorcycle lift in question:popcorn:

Just about everything these days comes from China. Not all of it is of poor quality. If you don't want to "stake your life" on Chinese stuff you better not ride your Spyder as the aluminum wheels, valve stems, tires, and most of the electronic stuff is made there.

:agree: To some extent...

I referenced Harbor Freight stuff though and I didn't see anything there that I considered great quality. Some of it was passible quality but other stuff was poor (or less) quality.
