J&M CB2003

Hi All,
I have been looking for a bike to Spyder communication system for me and my wife.

I would like to use bluetooth but the are issues with range, even the extended range ones. So I thought about using the J&M CB2003. This way we could talk back and forth with the option of others out there in CB land. It has an auxillary input for another audio device. We could also buy the interconnect cable to use if we're riding 2 up.

Has anyone used this before? I am trying to get some real world feedback on it's attributes and shortcomings.

Any info would be appreciated.

Although I haven't used this model, I have used J&M products over the years on various Goldwings and had nary a problem.

Although their head sets are expensive they stand behind their products. And are of a very good quality! And I think their headsets have the best sound quality out there. In fact I do plan to purchase this unit for my spyder when I hit Americade this year.

The wife (dltang) and I got a set of J&M Integratrs and headsets. We contemplated their CB unit for the Spyder but $$ won out in the end. We got two GMRS/FRS radios plugged into the Integratrs along with iPods, GPS and a cell phone. I think the Integratrs, headsets and all necessary cables set us back around $400 - $500 each. I believe that CB communicator was closer to $700 each. I was thinking that the CB was the way to go as I thought the range would be better than the GMRS radios and that a CB may be the more common communication device but after comparing a lot of Chatterbox, Autocomm, Starcom, Scala, etc. devices, I ended up being unsure of which would be better. So we decided on the Integratr as it could handle the multiple inputs that we were looking at and I think it worked out a bit less expensive than comparable devices. Like 2faston3 says, J&M makes great stuff. The Integratr works great and is everything that we will need in a communication system. The headsets are awesome and once you get past any jitters you may have about taking an Xacto knife to the inside of a $180 + helmet, the installation is very clean and convenient. Also, the sound quality is very good at highway speeds. Good luck on your communications search.
