• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ISCI Hand Brake Install

Received the kit yesterday and inventoried the parts today -- they are all there! :yes:This will be installed on a 2012 RT Limited, which means it's an SE5. I've read and reread, and reread, and reread the instructions ... some questions come to mind (I could pick up the phone and call ISCI / or our dealer, but it's late and both are closed). Sooo......

  • One of the steps in the instructions is to remove the muffler and it looks like there is a gasket between the end of the muffler and the header. Should we have a fresh gasket on had to put in when the muffler is reinstalled?
  • Since this system has it's own master cylinder that is used to actuate a mechanism that in turn "pushes" on the existing brake system and since the parking brake affects the peddle position, should we release the parking brake before doing the install?
  • If we do need to release the parking brake and decide to do so early in the install, will the warning beep when the key is turned off go silent after a bit? If so, how long does it take?
  • Finally, once installed can we use just the hand brake, just the foot brake, or both at the same time?

This doesn't look like a difficult install, just lots of steps and some careful execution of those steps -- hope so, anyway.

Thanks for your input ... Ann

Great product! I love mine.

Few things I remember:

  • I didn't have to release the parking brake that I remember.
  • When you trim the rubber/plastic cover on the switches, be sure to trim enough otherwise the moving parts will drag and the brake light may want to stay on.
  • Go to their web site and print out the instructions in color. You will be able to see things better and understand what you are looking making it easier to place things on the bike.
  • You shouldn't need a new gasket for the muffler. Just loosen the bolts a little of each at a time so it separates evenly.
  • I found routing the hydraulic line a little tricky to keep it from hanging up in the new yoke piece that you will install. get some strong tywraps to hold it in place.
  • Make sure you reposition the master cylinder fill lines back under the gas tank far enough. I used a 1 foot piece of wood 1x1 to push them under out of the way to make room to mount the bracket.

Good luck and keep us informed how it goes.
