• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Tech answer to correct the CB problem of still TX after the PTT button is release is to turn up the Squelch all the way.

Who is stupid here?

I know the fix is a new cluster. I even called BRP myself, have the part number, asked many times for the service department to call BRP and even told them that I too has talked to BRP and gave them the part number.

This dealer is the closest to me and till about 2 hours away.

I'm sorry, I thought you were looking for the fix. The fix is new and most tech's do not what causes the problem so they grab at anything in attempting to help.

stevedfive, The Squelch has nothing to do with transmitting. With the squelch turned all the way up I could not hear my fellow riders talking.

Yes, they do know about the fix.

Ruthie-
Tell that tech to get a telemarketing job where he can reach is full potential in life.:shemademe_smilie:

The latest - Talked to the dealer to let them know that turning the squelch up did not fix the problem.. Today the service person said that BRP said if the code was correct that it was not the cluster that is the problem. Service person (SP) states that the tech found the codes correct and the cluster would not fix the problem. After a heated conversation with SP finally someone told him to order the cluster but it would not fix the problem and then the SP hung up on me.

Has anyone who has the TX problem on their CB been told this?

I then called BRP. BRP took all the information and hopefully someone will call to let me know something.

I talked to Carlo on the phone and he told me the 2011 cluster will fix the PTT TX issue. Also, we discovered that the cluster did not fix the GPS to helmet only issue. My cluster is on order.

Steve, I haven't heard anything about the GPS to helmet issue. I will be hooking up a GPS in the next few days, so a new cluster will not allow the GPS to talk through the helmet. What did Carlo say about that issue? Did you have this problems working through your dealer on the CB issue fix?

Wow, tough crowd here!

My dealer did not know about the cluster replacement as the fix for the 2010 RTs. He did have some document from BRP that said that the problem had been resolved in the 2011 with a different instrument cluster, but did not understand from the document that that was the proposed fix for the 2010s. It wasn't until I told him about the word on this forum that he went back and re-read the doc and said it still wasn't clear, so he called BRP and they told him that it is the fix and is under warranty, but only for those customers who bring the problem to their attention.

My Service Manager wasn't right & I don't consider him stupid or in need of a new job. He just didn't know the right answer.
