• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello all! Question for all you travelers out there in SPYDERLAND,was thinking about doing one of IRONBUTT's rally rides and was wondering if any of you have tried this? I had to give up my GOLDWING due to a seriously broken right leg last year, hence the SPYDER.They due certify trikes but could not find any info., sent the assoc. an E-mail and am waiting on a response.P.S. still waiting for the salt and snow to go away!

Don't know about it but shouldn't be that big of a deal, my wife did 1000 miles in 16.8 hours on her 09 RS, 2 years ago just because she wanted to play the finals on the soccer tournament she was participating in,

Spyders are cheerfully accepted. Just follow the rules about getting the start and finish affadavits, as well as receipts from gas stops. Make sure the receipts include time and address as well as the amount you spent. Strangely, not all receipts are complete.
Submit your package with the all important check, and you'll be good to go.

Fe Butt

We have done 2 Ironbutts, a SS1k and a SS2k. Stock seat, but with sheepskins and Airhawks for a change of pressure points. The biggest thing is to follow the submission instructions to the letter. And most importantly, have fun!
Oh, go to the Moonshine Lunch Run website, lots of Ironbutt folks there.

What kind of custom seats do you guys use? Obviously not stock.

Mine is still stock but I'm thinking of having a local upholstery shop take some of the foam out of the bolster so I can scoot back an inch or so.. Can't see spending $1,000.00 + on a new seat although the ULTIMATE seat would probably be my next choice.:spyder2:

Not as challenging

As former H-D and other two wheelers the spyder just doesn't require the challenge for "Iron butt" from the lack of vibration & sound, just not as grueling more reason for H-D to not like us. :banghead: Case in point my bike is 300 days old & I'm already 15,320miles :doorag:

I completed and got inducted to the SS1000 Iron Butt association on my 2005 Honda GoldWing with a stock seat... did several 1000+ miles rides after that but did not registered those rides... plan to complete a 1000 SS this summer on my 2014 RT

My stock 2010 seat was suitable for the long ride.
The 2014 is even more comfortable.

As always, my free advice comes with a double your money back guarantee.
