Intermittent VSS Fault code

It happened again today. This is the second time my 2015 F3s has gone into VSS Fault Limp Home Mode. Since I was at a point the ride where I couldn't turn back home at that time I decided to finish the ride. Each time the ride afforded some time to stop before completing the trip.
Each time after the stop I started out again in Limp Mode and then the warning would go away and everything went back to normal opertion.
The only thing that I can connect both instances was that I had just fueled up. My question is, would over filling with fuel trigger the code?
I'm open to any ideas.

Fuelling, over-fuelling, or even not fuelling shouldn't do squat to your VSS &/or the display of limp modes, altho I guess it could be coincidental that there is something you do when you fuel up that you don't do at other times that might trigger the Limp mode!! :shocked:

VSS is the Vehicle Stability System, so you need to think about the things you do that might effect that along the lines of: moving the handlebars; turning the Park Brake on or off; or maybe not putting your foot on the brake pedal before you hit the button to start the engine. It'll probably be something in that sequence of actions which is the trigger. :thumbup:

There again, it could be that something in the VSS software or one of the sensors that talk to it that is not behaving; or maybe the computer just isn't getting sufficient battery power when you load up the battery while the starter spins, but it's really not likely to have much to do with fuelling or otherwise.

Fueling up will not have anything to do with your fault.
The first thing you want to do is check for a fault code (read your manual) when you have that l suggest you down load spydercodes for your smart phone if you don't have a smart phone list the code on here and someone will let you know what the fault is.

I was getting a weird code and my bike would not start. I checked the manual and found nothing to help. Checked the battery... and found a loose positive cable. End of problem.

A bit different....but....

I have gotten the VSS warning along with the check engine light a few times. Twice it was on long slightly banked sweeping turns where I did not throttle up or down and held the turn. I believe the nanny thought I fell asleep..:roflblack: or was going to go over. It did shut down the engine :banghead: but turning the ignition off and on cleared the VSS and the check engine light went off after a stop where the computers reset. A third time was when I had an emergency stop for luggage falling off the roof a car ahead and I stalled the engine..VSS thinks I'm loosing it. But they always cleared and does not come back. You may need a bit more if it does not clear :dontknow:
