There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I am about to purchase a 2013 St Limited. I am 55 with a great driving record and we have our house and vehicles insured by Liberty Mutual. I went there for a quote today and was surprised to hear it would cost me $785 yearly. When I balked at that they upped the collision to $1000 and that brought down the annual premium to $656. Is this just the going rate or is Liberty Mutual high? I've insured traditional motorcycles before and it was cheap. I am located in central NY state. Thanks! -Spydrgrl

NEW YORK?????? GET A ROPE.

No Seriously, PM Bob Denman, he sells insurance in NY and he can at least let you know if that is reasonable.

That's a pretty high premium...
Where are you located?
I use American Modern home in my office, and my bike is just over $500 per year... with $500 deductibles...

Liberty Mutual and it's sister companies might sell bike insurance; they just aren't price compettitive!
I know; I'm with Safeco; their quote for my bike was almost $700 also...
PM me with your contact info...

Check with Geico or Progressive. Those rates seem high.

+1 on Progressive.

Also, take a riding class, that will help potentially lower your premium. If you are really into trying to lower the rate, ask about a multi-vehicle rate. If your insurance company for the motorcycle is a standalone (if you switched to Progressive for just the Spyder), then consider getting another bike; seriously. It can be a really old bike that costs peanuts. I carry 4 bikes of which the Spyder is one. The older bikes are like $84/yr, there is a scooter in the mix too. That get s the Spyder below $300.

Compared to what I pay from State Farm in Alaska, your quotes are ball park. My 2010 RTS is $50 per month and my 2011 RTS is $54 per month. I carry full coverage, have a great driving record, and am high 60's in age. I am expecting that the 2014 RTS will probably jump about $10 per month--but don't have an official quote laid in yet. The Spyder RTS costs as much as a lot of peoples cars including my new 2014. My agent also covers my car (2014) and my home insurance. I like the fact that my agent knows who I am, I can call them when there are any problems, and that I have always had my claims covered in a timely and fair basis. I have been a State Farm customer since 1965 in every state that I have lived in.

You will find quotes all over the place--higher and lower. Bottom line for me is be happy with what you purchase.

cheap insurance

I have American Modern 1-800-543-2644 . Cost me around $300 yr. with a clean driving record in Lou. Ky. Turn some of my friends on to them and they switched over to them also. Give them a call

I'm with State Farm with a $500 deductible for $18/month. It has to be insured in full year increments. I'm not far from Oswego, in case someone was thinking you were in a high rate area.

I live in Fulton NY I have mine with State Farm & is a lot less than that. I do have my truck & UTV with them also so that probably keeps my cost down. also have my sled Ins. with them.

Is Liberty Mutual the same co. that you have your car with?

I live in the Atlanta area and I was quoted $390 today because the the agent didn't catch that ran out last week. I also get the GWRRA Trike safety class discount. I have a 2010 RT so it will be a bit cheaper.
The policy is with Foremost.

Since your over 50 check with AARP. I have 4 Harleys and the RT Ltd insured with them for $1161 per year with $500 deductable. Good luck.
