• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sorry to all that it took me this long to follow up on my original post about the stone going through my belt.

I wanted to make sure everything went through and also get some insurance facts to share.

As you can tell by the title, the insurance company (Foremost) cut me a check for repairs.
The total bill was $460.00 with $100.00 deductible.
My dealer gave me my 10% discount so my out of pocket cost was less than $70.00.

This was turned in as a comp claim, road debris as the cause of damage.

This is where it gets tricky. Check with your agent to make sure that there are no surcharges for multiple claims in a three year period. More insurance company's are doing this even on comp claims. Some allow two or three in a three year period before hitting you with a surcharge no matter the cost of repair. Some have the two or three in three but don't count the claims under a thousand dollars. Others still have no limit on comp claims.

I personally would not hold out turning in a claim based on getting hit with a surcharge because of a future claim that most likely will never happen. And if it does, so be it.
After three years the calendar resets for previous claims. As of right now I have two comp claims on record. I hit a deer two years ago, had the belt this year. Next year the deer accident will come off the record.

I hope this helps for anybody that may want to take this course of action.

Below are some photos of my damaged belt.

TWO THINGS: How did the sprockets make out......and I am glad I have Foremost....I have for years...Mike

Very useful information to know. Thanks. I also have Foremost but I wouldn't have thought to turn in a claim on a damged belt.

Each State will have their own rules and regulations; but most Companies are now looking at "Claims Frequency" as a rating and pricing tool.
They may not be able to surcharge you; but moving you into a "tier" that costs more money might be a possiblity...:yikes:
It's a good thing to ask your Agent!
