There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Installed JT Air Box & SP Bumpskid

So my wife and I spent the weekend installing the JT Air Box and the Spyder Pop's Bumpskid on my 2014 ST-L Spyder.

JT Airbox: We took off the appropriate panels and removed the factory airbox and resonator from the right side. What a bitch ! It was very tight with numerous cables and wires not only wrapped around it but also fastened to it. I see now why it has been reported that some dealers were charging $400.00 to replace the air filter. The removal I would guess freed up more than 1.5 cubic feet of space for air flow and engine cooling. Installing the JT kit was 100% per instructions, the video on Youtube really helps too. Tied off all the wires, better than from factory. Started her up...nice roar on acceleration...sounds good and the engine has to breath easier. This will at a minimum save on mechanic costs in the future as I can now easily change my own air filter. :firstplace:

Bumpskid: We had the Spyder jacked up using the ATV jack from Harbor Freight that many recommended. Jackstands under the front shocks, rear tire still on the ground. This gave plenty of clearance from the front. NOW... my back and freakin old body wont allow me on the floor...so my younger wife was on the install team ! She removed the mini/worthless factory skid plate. The Spyder Pops Bumpskid is a nice piece of equipment and should come stock !!! On the install, instruction wording and poor photos of bracket placement (could definitely use an upgrade). On the side brackets it said to slip them on the frame and "bend"...so my wife is under there shouting at me and me shouting instructions at her  (this was as bad as a married couple backing an RV into a Ponderosa Pine Tree/Women definitely are from another planet !) "twist" or "rotate and flip" the bracket onto the end of the frame may have been better terminology.....but we figured it out. All brackets in place, drilled out the 2 rear holes (there is NO radiator here to be concerned about) clips installed. The final plate install went like a breeze...all 12 holes lined up perfectly (she must have done something right !). Looks great on the bike and should offer more protection. So nice product, I would suggest some wording changes and better photos of bracket install and placement, also on an updated/newer Spyder too.

Cleaned and waxed her up (no silly...the Spyder !), checked tire pressure and il level. Need gas...and we are ready for a nice Oregon Spring and Summer ! :)

All in all...great products and we know they were installed properly  as we had the pride of doing it ourselves. Chinese Dinner reward and YES......we are still married.

No extra parts !!!! And yes...it is a peace of mind to know the work is done correctly. Also know how all the tupperware goes on and off too. Thanks !

With the air box out it will be so much easier changing out the spark plugs and wires in the future.

I agree maintenance will be a lot easier. The air box takes up a lot of room and the old air filters are hard to get out. The new system a breeze. I can see why dealers charge so much to do something that should be simple. Thanks !
