There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Install BOTH Street Magic center taillight and wake-up module - question?

For those who have installed both on their Spyder RS - a few weeks ago I decided to get both and sent an email to ask how they mounted together. I put the response aside until I got the parts this past week. Wrote another email explaining that the first email response did not agree with the wiring colors. 2nd response said Evan would call. He did very early this morning while I was still asleep. Left long message about wiring colors.
But I'm looking at the parts and all the wires have plugs installed and the instructions talk about inserting those plugs in the brake and running light wiring on the Spyder. Obviously, I don't have a number to reach him over the weekend. Would like to install them today or tomorrow.

So, for someone who has done BOTH on a RS, please tell me how you did it. Is it just a matter of installing the wake-up module and then just putting the center taillight plug into one of the plug connector arrangements? Or is it something different with the wires themselves as opposed to using the plugs already on the wiring? Please advise and thank you!

Since it's pouring out freezing rain right now I can't go out and open up the back of my Spyder to take photos, but *from memory*, this was an easy install for both, I just wish I remembered how I did it! It seemed pretty straightforward to me, no need to splice/tap wires in the back, it was just a plug in IIRC.

One hint: make sure the connections are tight, maybe even zip tie the wires under that back, those can rattle about quite a bit. Also, be sure to set the flash selector on the wake-up module BEFORE you re-install the tail piece, it saves you the pain of opening it all back up again once you realize you had it set to a different flash pattern than you wanted.

Hopefully someone will be along shortly to give you more detail. Good luck!

From what I can tell, there is no way to "set" anything on the Street Magic wake-up module.

I could have sworn there was a little switch on the black box unit that changed how the module flashed, but then I just realized, I installed the *Triple Play* module, NOT the Wake-Up Module, and you can change the flash pattern on that one.

So... I'm very sorry, ignore everything I just wrote. :opps:

That said, did you see this thread? It doesn't combine the center taillight, but it might help: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...I-Wake-Up!-Brake-Light-Modulator-Install-Pics

Sarge, yours was the answer I was hoping for - just install the light and then install the wake-up. So one side's wiring is going to have the center taillight plug inserted as well as one side of the wake-up module inserted. Did it make a difference which inserted plug was closer to the Spyder's taillight? No problems with operation of the flasher??
Thanks.
