• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Inexpensive comfort

Since I am on a fixed income, I consistently find myself searching for "deals" and ways of saving a buck. I have read how many on here find the stock seat to be less than comfortable on longer rides, and some of us that are getting along in years can appreciate the luxury of comfortable seating. I don't wish to sound "cheap" but the comfort seat is a bit expensive for this senior family so I have been searching for a less expensive alternative. Watching a couple of youtube videos, I saw how some purchase the AirHawk air cushions for their motorcycles and I decided to check them out. The brand name AirHawk was actually more pricey than I would have thought, so just out of curiosity I checked out Ebay. I found one that seemed to be an exact match for the one I wanted that normally cost about $130 advertised at $28.99 with free shipping. Closer examination revealed that even though it was being advertised as an Airhawk, it is really a Chinese knockoff. BUT, I read the reviews on it and they weren't bad at all. A few had problems with the retaining straps pulling loose, but they just sewed them back. I can handle that. So, I put it on my seat this morning and it feels great. I may circumvent the possible strap pulling loose by reinforcing them at the seam. The only difference I can see in the real deal and the knockoff is the straps on the real deal are supposedly elastic in nature and these seem to be a strong web(?) material with an easy release buckle. This cushion does not have the Airhawk label on it but it does look like a very good mimic.

Good price for sure. The test will be if it continues to hold air over the long run.

Well, it appears to have the air bladder the same as the "real" one. It does have a metal cap/valve. Hey, if I get a year of good use I will consider myself a winner on this. It came with an air pump, but I do not see any use for it on this air cushion. You can blow these up with a couple puffs of air. One thing I did learn is that you do not want to blow it all the way up, because it is not as comfortable as an almost deflated cushion. I had to let air out of it a couple times until I got it right and then it looked almost flat. The proof will be when I take a nice long ride on it. With the new wheel nuts, I can now plan some longer excursions.

Don't want to make it too easy for thieves, do we? I crossed the straps over each other, UNDER the seat and it holds it in position perfectly. The test will be to see if the straps pull loose from their stitching. If so, I will sew them back and keep on truckin'. I'm happy with the inexpensive option. Next project will be to change out the handlebars for something a bit higher so I can sit more upright. I have new Ergonomic grips that I am waiting to put on the new bars.
