• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In The Shop

I just purchased my RTS on 9 April 2011 and had to put it in the shop (only 125 mile) on 13 April 2011 for a check CPS fault. The bike went into limp home-mode so I had to ride home at 20 mph. After calling the dealer they informed me it was alright to drive it to the shop. After a restart the vehicle ran fine and I was able to drive above 20 mph. The bike is still in the shop, they are trying to find out what's wrong. My research has come up with a steering problem? So for now I am off the road.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I have seen this fault with my 2011 RT LTD. The LCD changed to a burnt orange background and white lettering stating: CHECK DPS

This screen cleared after a few seconds then I got the DPS "handle bars" warning at the bottom/middle of the LCD display. Also got the "engine" icon in the tachometer.

This turned out to be caused by the steering angle sensor connector not fully seated. The tech just gave the cable a tug and it popped off.

One recurring problem we see here that will cause a DPS fault is a low battery or bad battery connection. The DPS draws quite a load and if you don't have a fully charged battery or bad connections it will throw that code.
Let us know what they find.

Back on the road

The shop repaired the DPS problem. Said they had to reset the system? Not sure what caused it to go into limp mode. So-far-so good.

Thanks for the support.

Limp mode is 20 mph? When my wife's previous 2008 RS went into Limp mode, we could do 45 mph. Is this something new with the 2011's or the RT's?

When I first picked up my RT LTD I had two warnings appear on the LCD screen. One was "Check DPS" and the other "Preservation Mode". Never heard of the second one. Neither one caused a stricked speed. However, I did finally experience "Limp Home Mode" which is why it's in the shop now getting a new steering angle sensor and magnet. When it went into Limp Home Mode the RPMs dropped and were limited to 4500.
