Immediate coolant loss

Posted this in shop talk but wanted input from rt page

My 14 rtse6 ----
Smelled the smell
Gauge went hot
Limp mode kicked in
All very quickly

Pulled off.Reservoir empty, poured in water but went right out

I recall reads on hose clamps & coolant boxes but ive never had a drop on ground so suspect box

Any comments & ideas wecome

Bummer...

This is a new one. The cracked tanks were mostly on the older model v-twin and the loss was minor. Water pump seals were also minor loss. Radiator caps not installed correctly and hose clamp loose were all minor loss of fluid. You must have something totally disconnected or broken. Can you follow the leak/downpour. .?? What have you checked so far..?? Let us know how it goes...:gaah:

I had a hose lamp come of my ST never got. To see a puddle effect but the tem gauge would get to 5 bars as normal then in about 20miles it would spike to 7 bars or more that would stick me in limp mode & :barfid it suck till I got on a trailer to dealer Was warranty fix & lesson learned, hope you find what it is & :thumbup:

8000 mi wi no leaks or sign of trouble.
Ive done what i can by reaching in and twisting hoses etc.

My lift & tools r in Fla.

So wi keep you posted as it goes

Well the shop called today
I had to stick a regular battery in last may.
Seems the overflowdripped on to the pipe which connects two radiators.
Put a hole in it.
Probably not warranty due to wrong type of battery

ask to see the damaged part
all the coolant connecters on my 2014 RTL are plastic and battery acid should jot hurt that

I went to shop & saw disassembled bike.
The cross radiator coolant pipe is heavy duty!
There is rust & stuff from battery. And the drain hose was touching coolant pipe near the hole.
But even the service manager said it would be difficult to put hole in it.
It looks like something very hot or under continuous contact rubbed a hole in it.
Waiting on brp answer now.
Ps im going with Yokahama s drive while in the shop.
145 bucks to install.
Since im up North with no tools or lift that seems fair

Get bike back tomorrow
Can am no go on. Warranty
Drip hose on battery ( old style in a jam replacement) somehow got tangled & dripped on connecter hose between radiators.

Flat out in Indianapolis did me right I think
New back tyre, battery coolant, coolant line, & labor instalation
around 500 bucks
Plus since we are visiting home from Florida they pushed us up as much as poss

4got to mention they also cleaned up &painted area around battery & frame wi corrosion from said battery
