There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Ouch, ouch, ouch!!!! Took the spyder into the dealer for it's first inspection and oil change. Before they even started they quoted me over $500 bucks. Said it takes three hours for their inspection, oil change and test ride. Supplied my own oil which dropped the price to $475+. No wonder people complain and dealers aren't selling a ton of spiders. "OR" maybe this is the continual and perpetual gouge and screw we get here in Canada.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

$500 Canadian--I am guessing equal to about $375 US. (25% exchange rate??). $350 is ball park here--for those of us who have to get someone else to do it for us.

One of the complaints I have about the brand. Very expensive to maintain.

That's why....

Many have the first service done by the dealer then do oil and filter themselves and more. A lot has to do with where you are and the shop rates. As AKSPYDERMAN stated your in the price range here as well...:gaah:

Just had mine done in Central PA and it was around 300. I had a few other things done as well. Love my Service center and well worth the price for the service they provide. They are not the closest dealer but worth the hour drive to them.

Mine have been included in my original purchase so far. I asked what the cost would be when I pay for it and they said about $150, which is what was on the invoice they gave me, then zeroed it out.

You guys that supply your own oil, why? Save money? Goodwill is a two way street.

The next time you go to a restaurant, bring your own steak and ask them to cook it for you and ask them to take $5 off their price of a steak dinner. Let me know how that works out.

I don't supply anything. I agree with your comment about "goodwill" In essence you are insulting the dealer by implying that he is charging too much for the oil.

To the OP: While it may seem high, when you convert the "dollars" it is about average! Certainly nothing to be angry about! Life is too short. You next service will be in 9300 miles, just enjoy the ryde!:yes::yes:

I can understand....

I can understand the concern about the price of maintenance. Nobody wants to pay more than they think something is worth. But, on the other side of this coin is a dealer needing to pay for quality technicians and keep the doors open so that we have a place to take these wonderful machines in the first place. Yah, I agree that it's steep... but these aren't just your run of the mill bike.
And the point about not having another scheduled maintenance for quite some time is extremely valid.

Just my 2 cents.....

I just paid $400 for my 3,000-mile service....cheapest of 5 Certified Dealers. I can't say that I'm super happy about it, but it is what it is.

I am still at a loss as to why they charge $250 for an oil change... I can have
our 1 ton shop truck serviced/oil changed 7 times for that amount, even here in
rip you off California...
