I'm curious to know how you Spyder Lovers feel about

wearing Harley Davidson jackets, helmets, or any other product while ryding your :spyder2:?

Because I'm currently of the ..ahem.. larger size, my being able to find a good jacket is pretty slim. :yikes: They just don't make those cool looking "ladies" jackets in my size at the moment. I'm on Weight Watchers and plan on losing the fat and gain the svelt.....it's just going to not happen this Spyderfest.

So this past weekend at our local Harley Davidson location where there was a Poker Run ride scheduled, I purchased a really, really nice jacket that's aweseome. :doorag: The problem, if you will, is the Harley Davidson insignia with their wings emblem is displayed tastefully big and prominent on the back.

A friend of mine said he would never consider wearing a national known product like Harley Davidson on a Spyder, Suzuki, Honda, and uh well, you get the idea. :D But the jacket fits nicely and it's doing the job of keeping me warm on those cool-weather rydes.

Late April, Early May is still cool in the mornings so a jacket is warranted. So again, what's your thoughts on this? :chat:
Thanks in advance.

Wear it like you own it, which you do. It's your comfort, not anyone else's! Why worry about what anyone else thinks. It's the ride, not the ridden.

I still wear my Harley gear. But I did not buy any of it for Harley necessarily. I bought what worked for me. Regardless of the badging it came with (Within reason). :spyder2:

You are not the only SpyderPlus lady on this board. I can't really wear any of those cute BRP clothes even if I could afford them. They just don't come in my size. Check out Joe Rocket. They have some really nice ladies jackets in Plus sizes. They have XL 1-Diva and 2-Diva. It was nice to find a riding jacket that looked nice and fit well. Some day when I do lose the weight though, I will treat myself to some sexy riding gear. bjt, watch out...LOL

Oh yeah, if you want to wear the Harley gear, go right ahead.

Thanks all. That was my thinking too. I told the my guy friend that I don't care, which I don't, that I got the jacket from HD. It feels comfortable and that's all that matters. And besides, HD is just another brand promoting riding bikes, which spyders are, I also added to that conversation.

As for the Joe Rocket and the Go Go Gear, I'll definitely check them out. Thanks for the tips. Yay!!

Can you believe Spyderfest is just two weeks from now? Can't wait!!!!

As an avid rider of the Spyder and a Harley I believe I can wear what I want on any motorcycle. ATTGATT right, whatever works for you works for me.:2thumbs:

Thanks in advance.

Wear what you want. My Dog DooLittle found the right vest for her, but it had the harley emblem and wing (probably why it was
so expensive to begin with.) Well she asked me to sew on the RT patch, the smaller one, and guess what it covered it.

This one pictured is 4"X 4.5"

So the option is to make it your way.

Wear good gear that fits you. Don't worry about anyone who would criticize a brand that might appear on the gear.

I see people wear HD gear all the time that have never even been on one I'm sure--- no big deal at all. Many women have hubbys that ride HD's and thus have HD riding gear--- would be a waste of money to buy a second set.

HD makes more money from clothing sales than all other items COMBINED. They essentially have become a clothing retailer that happens to also sell motorcycles. nojoke

And of course the clothing is much higher profit due to hardly any of it being made in the USA....:gaah:

Wear what ya want!

:agree:
You'll probably get a few comments in jest, and if they're not, :cus: em
I just bought some HD gaiters a few days ago and they should be here any day now...

We use to own a HD and we have a few clothes left plus I have a HD patch on my vest and I like the way it looks. So it's on there with my spyder patches. We found a few spyder patches at the Leesburg bikefest in Fl and they will be going on where we had some HD patches. Also I found the Chrome handle bar grips for the gw 1800, and put them on over the existing grips. And they do feel good to the hands! This is a Honda part on a spyder. So you can see the cross over is starting. CJ :clap:11 more days to spyderfest:2thumbs:

I wear a Harley 3/4 helmet because it fits great and I'm comfortable in it. I bought it when I had my HD Heritage Softail Classic. After trading in the HD for the Spyder, I still favor the HD helmets.

Wear all the HD gear ya want----Just so long as you actually take a bath every now and then to differentiate yourself from an actual HD rider...... Lol

BRP is still new to the motorcycle. They havn't realized it yet that not everybody is slim, trim and young like their advertising models. It takes them all awhile to figure out how much buisness they are losing to after market. Logo or name does not make it fit. Fit is more important to me. If your comfortable with it wear it.

HD uses the same 'thin' models too..... unrealistic....

BTW-- you can find HD helmets from the actual manufacturers MUCH cheaper... they use a variety of makers---M2R and KBC are two of them...

I have been on Harley"s for the past 20+ years It just takes some of us a little longer to see the lightI have a lot of Harley stuff I just picked up my new RTS SE5 on April 13th and it's still pretty cold here in Idaho so I have been wearing my Harley coal and Helmet on the Spyder when people ask I just tell them I'm a cross dresser after almost $28,000 for the Spyder there is not much money left in the buget to start acquiring all the cool Can-Am stuff and by the way they are just as expensive as Harley motor clothes so for awhile in order to keep riding the :spyder2: I will have to wear some of my Harley clothing.
