Idler Wheel Kit / Belt Tensioner Accessory for F3

Hi everyone,

We've got some great news for any F3 riders who have experienced some belt vibration at higher speeds.

As was discussed in this thread, BRP will in fact be offering an idler wheel kit (PN 219800412) accessory that will help reduce belt vibrations felt by some customers at certain cruising speeds.

The kit should be available this fall and its price is set at 34,99$ US/39,99$ CAN - note that this does not include installation time. Installation should take approximately 20 minutes.

This kit is only compatible with the F3 series of Spyders.

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Hello Steve,

I hope BRP designs a tensioner for the 2015 RT, for the top of the belt. I have a tensioner on the bottom of the belt and still have vibration. It keeps Meg and I from taking long distance trips as the vibration is very annoying.

Tried tightening or loosening the belt, that only moves the speed at which the vibration occurs. Valcourt is coming up next year and really want to resolve this issue before the trip.

Are there any plans to design one for the RT? A search on the forums will reveal many others are experiencing this issue.

Thank You for monitoring the forums and keeping us apprised of new products to improve our Spyders.

Take Care, Louie

Great news and a VERY fair pricing point. Can you provide the part number for ordering?

Thanks!

RT owners

Looks like we get left out in the cold. Let me see, we likely spend the most for these machines and yet nothing is offered for the same issue. How is this going to instill brand loyalty? Come on BRP step up and do the right thing now that you have recognized a problem with vibration.:helpsmilie::helpsmilie:

Good to Hear.....

This should help many. Glad they are coming to the aid of those with the belt vibration problem. Now if you could post a good chart on the tension for the respective belts in both the sonic and the krikit it would help them all.... at least we can wish....:joke:

Hi Steve,

Is BRP planning on developing an Idler-Wheel-Kit-Belt-Tensioner for us owner of RT that do experience this vibration at certain RPM / Speed?
I know a lot of us are asking, it would be nice to get an answer.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks,

Silvano

Will there be instructions so we can install our self?

Where can it be ordered from?

Sorry should have said I ordered it from my local dealer and the parts guy checked the part# (from the BRP post) and said it worked on his computer so I should have it in 4-5 days!!....When it arrive I will check the cost of 'dealer installed' for a "20 minute" job??

I'm anxiously waiting to hear, as well!

Perhaps

We should STOP buying the RT's and just buy the F3'S. Benefits: lower cost & built in belt tensioner. I'm sure the tensioner will come standard on future F3's. If this happened what would BRO do with all the unsold RT's? Just a thought. RT owners unite and demand a tensioner!:gaah::gaah:

I checked with Billy at iMotorsports. He said it won't be in till November.

Be sure to let us know when you get it.

It's good to see that BRP is stepping up and solving a problem that has manifested itself with the F3. However, I think since its a manufacturing flaw, it should be provided at no cost to the owners, but who am I to say?

Fortunately, I have an RT, therefore have not had to endure that vibration. But I can see how the F3 owners could be displeased about it.
