• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I wonder

Without a way to hack into the ECU to resolve and coordinate fuel delivery and timing issues, as well as disable possible warnings from missing signals from the deleted system portions, it would be a huge challenge. A person could go nuts trying to crack this one. JMHO

Awww c'mon you guys! Could this be tougher than getting the electronic Nanny taught some manners with the help of the engineers from Bosch?? :roflblack: Where is your sense of adventure??

Butane conversoin

Pjense,
There is on the market a conversion that uses those little butane gas lighters. It consists of mounting 144 on those lighters in their holder that presses open the little valves electrically by a wired remote control using a 9V little battery. A 1/4" tube is run to the intake of the throttle body. It's just that simple. Check out www.butanegasconvert.com/spyder

if it would be a huge deal to change my spyder over to propane and use the trunk to hold the tank?

A large percentage of the motorized equipment I work on is LP powered. We have Ford, GM, Kubota, Robin, and Kohler engines powered this way. However, a Rotax???????

Like everybody said, GOOD LUCK. # 1 what happens if god forbid if you were in a head on collision .
#2 My experience with fork trucks that ran on propane was it was a pain inthe A___. You have to have a bigger cooling system than is on the spyyder. The hot antifreese must make the propane warm enough so it does't freese up so it can be urned in the engine.. Propane is very cold in a tank. This is with carbureraters. Not Fuell injection.I don't know what would happen with FI.:yikes:

[from someone who has worked in the industry. nothing personal, but that is by far the dumbest idea I have ever heard , and by far the least safest of all plans for the Spyder. ( extended fuel cap etc ). JUST A BOMB WAITING TO HAPPEN AND AGAINST THE LAW AS WELL ( ventilation ) DO NOT PROCEED ANY FURTHER WITH THIS THOUGHT AND OR PLAN.
