• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

put key in spyder turn the key everything lights up. hit the mode button and hit the starter and everything goes blank. it says its in neutral. I had it connected to tendre before I started tryin g to start. Does this sound like I might have a bad connection or what?
any help will be appreciated.

Tighten up the battery connections and try again. Is it repeatable? Jiggle the wires? A bad connection will be intermittent or sporadic depending how loose it is.

I checked the tightness fo the ground on the frame under teh seat and it seems fine. I need to get to the battery and check those. I just got it back form the shop and haven't had a chance to ride since my thumb surgery. so I will try that probably this weeeknd. It is going to be one crazy week.

How old is the battery? Is the tender reading a full charge? I've had old batteries take a charge but won't crank because they've sulfated to the point of unable to provide the cranking amperage needed. The bike lights will come on, the fuel pump energizes, but when I thumb the starter everything goes dead or the starter relay just clicks / buzzes and then goes silent. If you have a regular battery charger that has 50amp cranking mode, try jump starting the Spyder.

Check the negative terminal AT the battery, If it's lose that will cause the same symptom, If it's tight,
Then i would suspect a bad cell in the battery.

Battery is about 3 years old, but it went through one fairly cold week before i remembered to connect the tender. thats why I am thinking it is either loose connections or more likely the battery because of the cold and I didn't get it hooked up in time.

No expert here. Far from it. However, three years does seem to be just about what the natural life of a battery is. IMO

3yrs is an average. I've gotten as much as 5, to as little as 1. The one year was on a go kart starter that wasn't used regularly or charged on a battery tender.. it was a walmart special. Your battery lasts longest if not used in extreme heat or cold, is charged by the vehicle regularly or hooked up to a battery tender device. Starts in extreme heat and cold tax a battery's power.
